I like many were very troubled by the horrific tragedy on Friday Dec 14th. It was especially hard for me to send my elementary aged child to school for fear that events like this can continue to happen in this country. It could happen again anywhere. At a workplace, a theater, a mall, a government building, a college, and even an elementary school.
I have shed many tears for the young innocent lives that were lost and for those that gave their lives to help protect those children. I can't imagine the grief and pain that the victims families are going through right now. Their sorrow, their questions. We will never comphrend how someone could have no regard or respect for human life, no personal accountablity, no respect for authority, no fear of God.

These short videos are about having hope in times of trials and despair and the comfort that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can give us.

President Thomas S. Monson gave this message in the Aug 2008 Ensign

"Death eventually comes to all humankind. It comes to the aged as they walk on faltering feet. Its summons is heard by those who have scarcely reached midway in life’s journey, and often it hushes the laughter of little children. Death is one fact that no one can escape or deny.
Frequently death comes as an intruder. It is an enemy that suddenly appears in the midst of life’s feast, putting out its lights and gaiety. Death lays its heavy hand upon those dear to us and at times leaves us baffled and wondering. In certain situations, as in great suffering and illness, death comes as an angel of mercy. But for the most part, we think of it as the enemy of human happiness.
The darkness of death, however, can ever be dispelled by the light of revealed truth.
“I am the resurrection, and the life,” spoke the Master. “He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
This reassurance—yes, even holy confirmation—of life beyond the grave could well provide the peace promised by the Savior when He assured His disciples: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”"

blazer: Target, top & trousers: BRFS, clutch via Groopdealz, heels: Nine West via Ross,
 jewels: Stella & Dot

Last wednesday my husband and I went to one of his holiday parties. We go to two each year for him. One for other general managers and one for his managers. I kinda dressed down this time. I'm wearing a trouser but it's jeans. I bought the blazer just a few hours before. I had totally planned to wear something else. I love the zipper detail. There's 5 zippers on this jacket and this clutch was a must buy. Couldn't pass up at $15.

I picked up this fun skirt about a week or two ago at BRFS on clearance with a coupon. I wasn't sure about it. It's a little longer in length than I normally would wear and it's navy. I have always had issues with navy skirts. I really have a hard time pulling from my closet to pair them with anything. I thought this denim western top from J.Crew Factory would be unexpected so I went for it and of course the gorgeous wedges perfect for fall. You might see this outfit again in the near future, changed up just slightly.
I'm kinda loving this look.
